(JULY 4, 2007): Led by a marching band, 1,000 new American citizens parade down Main Street, USA in the Magic Kingdom in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The celebration at Walt Disney World Resort was all part of a gala Fourth of July ceremony in which United States citizenship became a dream-come-true for 1,000 immigrants. Highlighting the swearing-in ceremony: performances by Cuban-born singer Gloria Estefan, country music artist Lee Greenwood; a keynote address by U.S. Sen. Mel Martinez (R-Fla.) and the Oath of Allegiance presided over by Emilio Gonzalez, Director of the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
